I don’t know what’s worse, that this even aired on national T.V. or the fact that Shar Jackson received a record deal as a gangsta rapper for this BS.
Okay Kendra raps like what she is .. a white girl so I don’t have any words for her … But Shar damn. At this point in life who wants to be a gangsta rapper especially if you are a single mother of four. Perhaps I just answered my own question – “Bills gotta get paid!”
If that’s the case then You Go MC Shar J get your dollars and your come up slim!
Okay, I don’t even speak espanol and I love this damn show. Excuse my minor Latina fetish that keeps popping up but I swear that’s just a small part of why I watch this shit. This modern day female rpison drama has a million and one sub-plots that are all plausible (or so I tell myself).
Kidnapping, murder, drugs and human trafficking are the offenses that bring these broads to prison. Oh yeah; and so does shop-lifting and having your boss put a gun in your hand after blowing his wife away …. (She went to jail because she didn’t speak spanish either.)
My favorite writer has told her friends and readers time and again about her crushes on Morgan Freeman and lately Walter Mosley so I don’t feel guilty introducing to my folks Dolores Heredia…. ahhh I did a quick two minute search but could not find a website devoted to just her loviliness. Heredia plays the no-nonsense yet beautiful attorney/warden Teresa Lagos of Capadocia, the mexican all-womens prison, which is the main object of interest for this series. It’s inmates and staff tell their stories and some are far-out while some can be everyday here in S.E. DC.
At the moment I have an episode playing thanks to Comcast On-Demand .. realizing that there are three or four broads that get my “ahem” attention. Sexy P if you are reading this only Heredia meets my age requirement. Lorena is nice but she has this old Troll woman touching and lusting after her every night whichis creepy and nasty. Riddle me this … why the hell is Teresa always talking to Burian? Isn’t he bi?
When did Spanish kids like Andrea start acting like White kids and locking their parents out of their rooms .. sheeeeet!! Teresa don’t take that, you know ahe’s trying to seduce you 24yr. old jump-off.
Will Santiago become El Presidente? Obviously, him banging Isabel won’t stop him… Hold up did Andrea just ask to move in with her dad…? I wish L and T would ask to move in with their papi!
Mujer .. now that’s a word I like. I gotta go now all but I haven’t finished this posting. Redskins vs Steelers in five minutes and that chick that keeps a theory with her is waiting .
I hate these two words but for shits and giggloes !
This is the first day of year 37 for me. so far so good…
Long gone are the days of ripping shit up to celebrate my birthday, and good riddance! For one, I am glad to be see my 37th year. For others it did not and will not materialize for one reason or other but I am very thankful that I’ve been blessed with mine.
Keeping stats: Divorced once, three kids one of which from ex-wive’s previous marriage, okay health (no meds … but diet and exercise wouldn’t hurt.. LOL), I have a great girlfriend and all of the adjuncts associated with her, and Happy!
Today I plan on meeting up with a guy to consider a coaching position with one of the most successful boys & girls clubs in this area. This is something that I’ve put off doing over the years mainyly because of job and home responsibilities. At the moment I am in a good position and may be able to get my feet wet with coaching some kids.
That’s all for now just a quick second to say hello world.
If you get a chance check out this site [coparenting101], very good resources for anyone associated with a divorce or coparenting issue.
Having the pleasure to spend a considerable amount of time on the man’s office I can honestly say that he will be missed. May God bless his family and all who have known him.
NEW YORK – Gene Upshaw, the Hall of Fame guard who as union head helped get NFL players free agency and the riches that came with it, has died. He was 63.
Upshaw’s death was announced by the NFL Players Association, which he headed for a quarter century.
His outstanding 15-season playing career was entirely with the Oakland Raiders and included two Super Bowl wins and seven Pro Bowl appearances.
In 1983, he became executive director of the players’ association and guided it through the 1987 strike that led to replacement football. By 1989, the players had a limited form of freedom, called Plan B, and in 1993, free agency and a salary cap were instituted.
Since then, the players have prospered so much that NFL owners recently opted out of the latest labor contract, which was negotiated two years ago by Upshaw and then-commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
Okay for several years now I’ve been advocating the return of mom-dukes back to the area. These days she seems to be fixing herslf to do just that, Move back! I’m happy for her and everyone else interested and all but … uhh! I didn’t expect her to move in with me.
Not that I don’t or couldn’t make the space if necessary but I have two older sisters and it just makes sense for her to stay with one of them. I’m recently divorced and split 50% custody of my daughters with the ex. We have seven days on then seven days off with the girls. So every other week is “Me” time.
Not saying that on my off time I’m running a whore house … but I do appreciate my “Me” time which translates to the free weekends spent with my favorite writer (dp) and the weekdays doing whatever or nothing else.
I don’t wanna deal with a grown adult on my time … especially mom-dukes. We get along great but that’s because there are a couple of thousand miles between us. I have made it known that she should be with daughters but she isn’t registering what I’m saying. And my sisters are laughing at me. They aren’t necessarily opposed to moms staying with either of them but they aren’t volunteering either.
I’m not worried that I’ll be stuck with ol’girl but it could happen. What the hell… she took care when I got on her nerves … maybe I should return the favor. One option would be to split custody of mom-dukes with my sisters.
That will be my next argument. I’ll create the schedule so that I have her on holidays and weekends that my daughters are home. That way I can get good food and free childcare. hmmm … knowing mom-dukes, she may charge me for childcare and refuse to cook except on Sundays. I’ll let you know how that goes.
This was one of the last things about my childhood in DC that I was proud of. Mayor Barry’s Summer Youth Employment Program gave many youngsters like myself their first taste of a real job and a real paycheck FICA tax and all. I’ve been extremely proud of my 2 years spent as a summer student aide tuturing elementary kids in Math and English at one of the inner-city elementary schools of the District all while just in middle school myself.
So this morning I wake up to the local news blasting the program that I love.
District administrators calling for heads to roll and what not. Okay how do you mismanage 52 million dollars of a summer youth employment program? WTF? As I remember it and just as the DC Dept. of Employment Services which oversees this program affirmed this morning the program is very structured. There is a limit of participants, a set hourly wage and a predetermined hourly work schedule.
Now I’m no census genius but I can’t imagine that there are that many teens working in this program claiming dependants on their W-4s screwing up the District’s withholding calculations. Now about the kids … some have not been paid for hours worked, some have been paid and have not worked a single minute and even worse … there are instances where former participants [former as in they did not register to participate this year] have received checks for service. I can remember how efficient the program ran for years … and now this is just hard to believe.
I rarely advocate the firing of public officials without knowing more of the factors involved but damn there is a first time for almost everything. Who do we call to the carpet on this one? Mayor Fenty is on his way to Beijing and more than likely will not take action until his return. I’ll keep you posted…
Back in the day it was public knowledge how “Mayor for Life” Barry fought to convince local and major businesses to invest in this program. Now the Ward 8 councilmember, Barry has been quite vocal with his opinions and concerns in this matter. Our local FOX News channel ran several snippites of him leading the protest and looking for answers.
I wish I still had my participant t-shirt with the Red, White and Blue DC logo to wear, I’d draw a black gloved fist on the back to protest.
“The reading was sublime. All mama-writers. Lots of blood, sex, body fluids, wine.” These 3 sentences were about all I could muster on Twitter when I returned home last night from the Unblurred reading. I was pretty okay when I left the house.
